📅 2026 marks the 70th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations between Japan and the Philippines. This anniversary commemorates the signing of the Japan–Philippines Reparations Agreement and the establishment of formal diplomatic ties on July 23, 1956.
✔️ Both governments have designated 2026 as the “Philippines–Japan Friendship Year” under the theme:

“Weaving the Future Together: Peace, Prosperity, Possibilities.”
This theme symbolizes seven decades of cooperation and shared progress across diplomacy, culture, economy, education, and people‑to‑people exchange.
