J.TEST Philippines retains examination records and related documents for a limited period.
Under our policy, certificates and score sheets cannot be reissued after 5 years from the examination.
Therefore, if you took the J.TEST more than five years ago, we may no longer be able to provide you with a copy of your certificate or score sheet.
This is especially important for examinees who took the examination before the pandemic, as many of these examination records are already beyond the 5-year retention period.
Why Should You Keep Your Certificate and Score Sheet?
Your J.TEST certificate and score sheet may be useful in the future.
For example, you may need them when:
- Applying for a job in Japan
- Applying to a Japanese language school
- Preparing documents for study in Japan
- Demonstrating your Japanese language ability
- Applying for a position that requires Japanese language skills
- Keeping a personal record of your Japanese learning achievements
Even if you do not need the certificate today, you may need it several years later.
For this reason, we strongly recommend that you keep your original certificate and score sheet safely after receiving them.
We also recommend keeping a digital copy as a backup.
What If Your Certificate Is No Longer Available?
If more than five years have passed since your examination and your certificate or score sheet can no longer be reissued, you may consider taking the J.TEST again.
By taking the J.TEST again, you can obtain a new examination result and certificate that reflects your current Japanese language ability.
This can also be a good opportunity to measure how much your Japanese has improved since your previous examination.
